How to Service and Repair the Front Door Latch Assembly on 2005 Lincoln LS?

In order to service and fix the front door latch, unscrew the front door trim panel and latch shield. Unscrew the actuating rods of the lock cylinder and exterior door handle and remove the screws of the front door latch. Unplug the electrical connector and take off the latch. Installation is the same way, except that the latch is lubricated afterwards.
