2005 Lincoln LS Power Steering Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Power Steering Reservoir on 2005 Lincoln LS?
A: Service of the power steering reservoir starts with draining the fluid through a suitable suction device. The installation process requires tightening the upper reservoir isolator bolt to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.) after loosening it. During installation, you should loosen the lower reservoir isolator bolt then secure it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). First, detach a cooler-to-reservoir hose while removing its clamp before taking out the hose. The same procedure involving clamp removal allows you to disconnect the reservoir-to-pump supply hose. You should lift the reservoir away from the isolators. Reverse the installation steps from removal and complete the power steering system filling process after installation.
