Place the vehicle in neutral position and position it on a hoist. Disconnect both electrical connectors of heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and catalyst monitor sensor (CMS). Start by taking out and disposing the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts followed by the removal of bolts and flag nuts holding the catalytic converter to the outlet pipe and also discarding the bolts and flag nuts and gasket.
