The first step should be disconnecting the negative battery cable before removing the exhaust manifold heat shield. The service for Exhaust Manifold LH requires the disconnection of exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold followed by detachment of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module tube from the manifold. Begin by removing the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) before removing the eight manifolds nuts which include the gasket. To reinstall the component follow the steps in reverse order of uninstallation.
