2006 Ford Crown Victoria Fan Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud on 2006 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Service on the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud begins with depowering the fire suppression system if present followed by disconnecting the battery ground cable. The service begins with draining the cooling system and removing the bolt which secures the power steering reservoir and placing it aside before reinstalling the bolt with a torque of 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). The degas bottle requires removal after disconnecting its supply and overflow hoses. Install the bolt which must be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) when you replace it. Separate the upper radiator hose after which proceed to detach transmission cooler tubes both from the cooling fan motor and shroud. Remove the power fan shroud electrical connector while placing the lower hose in a safe position away from the assembly. The installation of this component requires tightening both bolts that secure the cooling fan motor and shroud assembly to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs). Reinstall the system and activate the fire suppression device only when required following the checklist. Then fill and bleed the cooling system sequence.
