2006 Ford E-150 A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser core on 2006 Ford E-150?
A: Recovery of refrigerant should be the first step when servicing or fixing the HVAC condenser core. You should begin the process by taking away both the engine air cleaner and outlet tubes followed immediately by the upper radiator air deflector. A wrench should be applied to both sides of the fitting to prevent damage when disconnecting condenser fittings before discarding O-ring seals. Secure the condenser fittings at a torque of 39 Nm (29 lb-ft) at installation time. Apply torque wrenches to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) when reinstalling the radiator brackets together with their four bolts. During reinstallation proceed to tighten the condenser bracket bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Proceed to access the condenser core by moving the radiator back while maintaining caution toward the cooling fins. To install reverse the removal steps by installing new O-ring seals while using clean PAG oil to lubricate the correct amount within the refrigerant system. Evacuation and leak testing and refrigerant system charging will complete the process.
