How to service the exterior rear door handle on 2006 Ford Escape?

The procedure for servicing exterior rear door handles requires first detaching and placing aside both the watershield and rear door trim panel and then the rear door glass top run. Two bolts need removal and then tighten the hardware to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) before installation. The exterior door handle reinforcement slides when you loosen its screws before removing the cover by pulling the handle and unfastening the front of the cover. Start the process by moving the exterior door handle toward the back of the vehicle before taking off the seals from both sides of the handle. Start the exterior door handle actuating rod removal process by cutting open the clip to disconnect the rod from its fixture. The reinforcement can be extracted from the vehicle after pushing the exterior door handle to the vehicle's front section. A reverse order should be used for the installation process.
