Service of the front seat cushion (60 percent) begins with seat positioning to expose all fasteners securing seat tracks to the floor pan. The supplemental restraint system should be depowered before proceeding since the safety belt pretensioner functions as a pyrotechnic device so wear safety glasses at all times. The service sequence begins by removing first the 60 percent seat and the 60 percent seat backrest together with the armrest bracket inner cover. Start by removing the two screws which secure the armrest bracket outer cover followed by releasing the J-clips from the cushion trim cover. Unscrew both bolts at the backrest recliner before reinstalling them tight to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft). The armrest bracket holds two bolts which you need to uninstall before tightening at 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) during reinstallation. Detach the seat track while being cautious to avoid tear between the hook-and-loop strip and cushion trim cover when separating them from the cushion foam pad. Turn the cushion trim cover inside out before removing it from the cushion foam pad which should be extracted from the cushion frame next. Assembly of the SRS requires reversing the disassembly steps by adding the 60 percent seat backrest and the 60 percent seat followed by a repowering procedure of the SRS system. Perform a complete check of the SRS system for proper operation and no faults before handing the vehicle back to customers.
