How to service the rear bumper cover for 3-Door, 4-Door, and 5-Door on 2006 Ford Focus?

The service procedure for the rear bumper cover of 3-Door, 4-Door and 5-Door vehicles requires removal of four upper pin-type retainers as the first step. Place the neutral gear vehicle onto a hoist stand. The correct procedure during assembly requires the installation of fresh pin-type retainers. Follow by positioning the splash shield away from the work area while removing two pin-type retainers which exist on each side. Please detach the two screws that are located at both sides. Leave the installation torque at 5 Nm (44 lb-in) when bolting the rear bumper cover nuts on 3-Door and 5-Door models each side. The installation of new pin-type retainers should be combined with a 5 Nm (44 lb-in) tightening for the 4-Door models' rear bumper cover nuts on both sides. During installation you must disconnect the loadspace trim to reach these nuts. The next step requires removal of the two pin-type retainers and two outboard pin-type retainers located on each side of the car. The last step involves taking off the rear bumper cover before performing the installation process backward.
