Follow these steps to detach the four bolts then disengage the fastener while placing the instrument panel lower panel to the side before reattaching the bolts at 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.). Begin replacement of the instrument panel lower panel by disconnecting both the hood release cable and data link connector DLC before removing it by loosely installing the hood release cable nut at 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) torque. Start by using the suitable tool to free the two steering column upper shroud clips on both sides. You should remove the audio control switch from vehicles which have it by breaking the locking tab and unplugging the electrical cable. First release the steering column locking lever and then eliminate the screws to remove the steering column lower shroud. Use a suitable tool to disconnect the ignition switch and unitary LH multi-functional switch electrical connections before freeing the ignition switch with the clips. The installation process should begin with the opposite steps needed during removal.
