How to service and repair the ignition switch on 2006 Ford Focus?

To fix the Ignition switch, de-power the SRS by disconnecting the instrument panel lower panel, then taking out four bolts and stowing away the instrument panel lower panel. Unhook the hood release cable and DLC and take the panel away. You can take off the steering column shrouds, unscrew the ignition switch, and do the same in the process of putting back in place.
