How to service and repair the accelerator cable on 2006 Ford Freestar?

In repairing accelerator cable, disconnect one end at throttle body and take it out of the bracket. Disconnect it with the retainer clip on the shock tower and the plastic retainer at the pedal. Open the cable retainers with a 16-mm socket, then do the same thing removing the old cable and replacing it with the new one.
