- Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose in the Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on 2006 Ford Fusion?A: The initial step to work on the compressor manifold and tube assembly is removing all refrigerant from the system. The vehicle should be positioned on a hoist in neutral gear. Detach the two coolant reservoir hose retainers which are connected to the compressor manifold and tube assembly before removing the washer reservoir filler neck bolt. Reinstall it to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) torque. First disconnect the suction fitting from the compressor manifold and tube by removing its nut while discarding the gasket but tightening the fitting at 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). After removal of the condenser inlet fitting nut you should disconnect the fitting then discard its gasket before tightening it to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Detach the A/C compressor from the compressor manifold by removing its bolt then discard the gasket seals before reinstalling with 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque. Purge the supporting component by removing the secondary air injection pump bolts followed by placement of the pump in position before reinstallation while tightening to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). Install replacement gasket seals and apply the required amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system before performing the reinstallation according to the removal steps. The refrigerant system should be evacuated then tested for leaks followed by charging the system with refrigerant.
