Ford Fusion A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on Ford Fusion?
A: The first step for repairing the compressor manifold and tubes is refrigerant recovery followed by hoisting the vehicle in NEUTRAL. First separate the two coolant reservoir hose retainers from the assembly and afterward remove the washer reservoir filler neck bolt while tightening it to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) during reassembly. Start by taking off the suction fitting nut from the compressor manifold and tube then disconnect the fitting before disposing of its gasket seal while tightening the fitting to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) during reinstallation. The process also involves removing the condenser inlet fitting nut followed by disconnecting the fitting and discarding the gasket seal seal while tightening it to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Detach the compressor manifold from the A/C compressor by removing its bolt from the lower engine splash shield and compressor manifold bolt. Replace the gasket seals with new ones then tighten the bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) during reinstallation. During reinstallation of the three secondary air injection pump bolts tighten them to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). Reverse the removal process of compressor manifold and tube assembly while adding new gasket seals and correctly applying clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. The refrigerator system needs evacuation followed by leak testing before charging.
