2006 Lincoln LS A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser Core on 2006 Lincoln LS?
A: Service and repair the HVAC system condenser core by first placing the vehicle onto a hoist operating in neutral mode. The first step is to recover refrigerant while also taking away the center underbody deflector shield. After removing the condenser inlet fitting nut you should keep the O-ring seal for disposal before installing the new piece with 8 Nm (71 lb-in) of torque. Remove the two lower air deflector pin-type retainers followed by the lower air deflector. Remove the condenser outlet fitting nut under the same conditions before installation while discarding the O-ring seal and tightening the new fitting to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). After removing both the condenser bolts follow by removing the condenser itself while tightening the new bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) when reinstalling the components. Installation requires the reverse removal procedure along with new O-ring seals while proper cleaning and lubrication of the refrigeration system with the correct PAG oil amount. The process will end with evacuating and testing for leaks before the refrigerant system receives its charge.
