2006 Lincoln Navigator Seat Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the power-fold seat motor on 2006 Lincoln Navigator?
A: The service and repair work for power-fold seat motors starts with removing the third row seat which requires service. Begin by unlatching the cushion and extracting the inboard slide bracket cover-to-inboard slide bracket screw before elevating the cover outward and re-tighten it to 3 Nm (27 lb-ft) upon replacement. Move on to the safety belt anchor bolt removal while adjusting its tension to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) during installation phase. Separate the inboard slide bracket from the inboard latch by removing the inboard slide bracket-to-inboard latch nut and reinstall this fastener to a torque of 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). The inboard latch requires removal by first taking out its bolts from the backrest frame. The bolts need to be tightened to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft) when reinstalling the parts. The power-fold seat motor removal will be necessary for installing a cable assembly service kit so the technician should either grind or drill through the bottom of the rivets for extracting the motor assembly. The reverse procedure should be used to finish the installation.
