  A: It is necessary to begin left-hand exhaust manifold servicing by positioning the vehicle neutrally on a hoist. Proceed by disconnecting the negative battery cable and straightening the steering wheel through use of an appropriate device. Keep the intermediate shaft from rotating without connection to the steering gear because this damage to the Clock Spring will occur so the Clock Spring needs removal and recentering if such rotation takes place. The intermediate shaft detachment from the steering gear begins after the technician removes its pinch bolt. The left-hand HO2S should be reattached with 41 Nm torque while the EGR system module tube needs connection to the exhaust manifold at 40 Nm torque. Position the catalytic converter flange before you install its nuts to the exhaust manifold while tightening them to a torque of 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). Fasten the exhaust manifold heat shield before installing its two bolts and torquing them at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Position the intermediate shaft to the steering gear before installing the pinch bolt and tightening it to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Then reconnect the negative battery cable.
