  A: Service of the left-hand exhaust manifold begins when you lift the vehicle to a hoist position with the vehicle in neutral gear. Disorder between the intermediate shaft and steering gear can harm the Clock Spring; if rotation occurred remove the Clock Spring for recentering. Pull out the pinch bolt from the intermediate shaft and separate the steering gear from its connection with the intermediate shaft. Fasten the exhaust manifold heat shield using two bolts that should be tightened up to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
