First remove the cooling fan along with the accessory drive belt then disconnect and tighten the bolts of the coolant pump pulley to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) torque specification. Untangle the coolant pump bypass hose and heater hose along with lower radiator hose through loosening their associated clamps. Before installation of the new gasket follow proper bolt torquing procedure as described at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). The cleaning process requires plastic scraping tools; wire brushes and metal scrapers must be avoided as they generate surface defects which result in leaks. Follow the packaging instructions for proper mating surface preparation using plastic scrapers. Perform the installation by following the opposite steps of removal.
