How to service and repair the Water Pump on a 4.0L SOHC engine on Mercury Mountaineer?

To fix a coolant pump on a 4.0L SOHC engine empty the cooling system, disconnect the fan and drive belt, and unscrew hoses. Take out the pump and gasket, but make sure that the new gasket is tightened to 10 Nm. Wipe surfaces using plastic scraper and reverse the process to install again.
