2007 Ford Crown Victoria Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Water Pump on 2007 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Start service and repair of a coolant pump by depowering the fire suppression system (if present) then draining the cooling system. To begin repair of the coolant pump start by releasing four bolts on the pulley shaft. Then remove the accessory belt. You must first take out the four bolts that protect the coolant pump pulley and afterward discard the O-ring seal before uninstalling the four coolant pump holding bolts. The installation of the new coolant pump requires fresh O-ring seal lubricated with new engine coolant applied to it and proper torque of bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The housing of the coolant pump should not turn after installation to protect the O-ring seal which serves to prevent leaks. The system requires activation of the fire suppression if present followed by proper cooling system filling and bleeding procedures.
