2007 Ford E-250 Alternator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the alternator on 2007 Ford E-250?
A: You should start by disconnecting the battery when servicing and repairing the alternator. A technician must loosen the band clamp before taking out the air filter element along with tray and inlet snorkel. Workers should adjust the accessory drive belt tensioner in a clockwise direction when air conditioning exists but should perform the opposite rotation without air conditioning and delicately place the drive belt to the side. The service process begins with removing the generator B+ electrical connections followed by moving the B+ protective cover aside and extracting the B+ terminal nut then set the B+ terminal away before tightening it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during reinstallation. The generator bracket requires three bolts to be removed before installation while the torque should be set to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Follow by abolishing both generator-retaining bolts with a torque setting of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) prior to replacement. Terminate the procedure through reverse execution of the removal techniques.
