2007 Ford E-250 Coolant Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the coolant reservoir on 2007 Ford E-250?
A: Begin coolant reservoir service by ensuring engine safety through the prevention of unscrewing the pressure relief cap when the engine runs hot because an underpressure coolant system emits potentially dangerous steam bursts. Turn the pressure relief cap direction counterclockwise until it reaches one half turn before removing it. Hose clamp pliers should clamp down the lower degas bottle hose so you can use a suitable suction device to draw coolant from the degas bottle. Install gas engine degas bottle by disconnecting the single coolant hose connected to the upper section of the bottle. Follow the removal of bolts to place the degas bottle in position before tightening bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs). Disconnect the lower degas bottle hose that supplies coolant and safely take out the degas bottle from the vehicle. When installation is complete follow the opposite steps of removal while filling the degas bottle.
