2007 Ford E-250 Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the Water Pump for 4.6L, 5.4L, and 6.8L engines on 2007 Ford E-250?
A: Start the 4.6L 5.4L 6.8L engine coolant pump repair and servicing by removing both the fan and fan clutch from the vehicle. The proper service of the coolant pump for 4.6L, 5.4L, and 6.8L engines starts with loosening the four coolant pump pulley bolts followed by a clockwise rotation of the tensioner to remove the accessory drive belt from this pulley. Begin the coolant pump repair by removing the four pulley bolts before taking out the four bolts that attach the coolant pump itself and discard the used O-ring seal. Follow the package instructions to apply metal surface prep before cleaning the sealing surfaces. A fresh O-ring needs engine coolant lubrication before installers place it on the coolant pump. After positioning the coolant pump housing into the cylinder block it should not be turned to prevent damage to the O-ring seal. Fasten the coolant pump using its four bolts before tightening them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs). Proceed by putting the coolant pump pulley on the coolant pump then fasten the bolts with just finger strength. The accessory drive belt gets installed onto the coolant pulley after the tensioner gets rotated and then the coolant pump pulley bolts get fastened to 25 Nm (18 ft.lb). After completion install the fan followed by the fan clutch.
