  • Q: How to service the rear door power window motor on 2007 Ford Edge?
    A: Service of the rear door window motor starts with removing the rear door speaker. The window regulator cable should be cut only when replacing the window regulator assembly after supporting the glass through suitable window maintenance. The testing of the window operation should begin by reconnecting the window control switch. The plug should be removed after lowering the window access until you reach the glass clamp bolt area which needs taping for position retention. Support the regulator when loosening the glass clamp bolt since subsequent tightening should be at 9 Nm (80 lb-in) for installation. Lower the window regulator until it stops at the bottom of each regulator track when disconnect the electrical connector located at the B-pillar. Unfasten the two interface bolts from the electrical harness grommet to the door while using the speaker hole for access to detach the clip from the harness. Pull out the weather stripping before passing the wiring harness into the area where the weather stripping touches the door structure. The three door latch screws require removal then should be fastened to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) torque before reinstalling them. Start by removing an access plug from the door latch area then unfasten the outside door handle reinforcement screw and replace the door handle itself. Start by taking out the door keypad then proceed to remove the nine bolts from the rear door module. During replacement install the parts then torque the bolts at 9 Nm (80 lb-in). The installation ends with the opposite steps used during removal.
