2007 Ford Edge Heater Core Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the heater core on 2007 Ford Edge?
A: A pressure leak test should come first when servicing the heater core due to suspected leakage. The heater core removal process starts with eliminating the heater core along with evaporator core housing while you afterward detach the six floor duct screws and floor duct. First remove the heater core tube dash panel seal before proceeding to remove the heater tube bracket screw and heater tube bracket. First disconnect the wire harness from the plenum chamber then remove the five fresh air inlet duct screws followed by the fresh air inlet duct. Screw Removal from the lower facing plenum chamber occurs while the heater core and evaporator core housing should remain vertical with the chamber-facing direction. Detach the plenum chamber from the vehicle by first removing the upper facing plenum chamber screw and the two plenum chamber clips while paying attention to keep the evaporator core in place. Users must handle the heater core by its core-side connections to the tubes before pulling it partly from the plenum chamber and then pulling it out completely by grasping the core top. Before reinstalling the evaporator core a proper inspection of the drain seal installation must occur with proper reinstallation necessary followed by core placement. The installation process ends by performing the reverse procedure to removal.
