2007 Ford Expedition Air Suspension Compressor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the air suspension compressor on 2007 Ford Expedition?
A: The procedure to work on the air suspension compressor begins with taking out the inner fender splash shield. The air line attachment to the compressor drier will become void after compressing the quick connect lock ring inward followed by pulling the line away from the air drier. The first task should be to remove the air compressor air intake hose followed by disconnecting its electrical connector. The service and repair of the air compressor with bracket involves removing the three bolts to take out everything together but requires a 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque setting for these bolts when installing it back. Fully insert the white part of air lines into the fitting for correct installation during setup. Examine if objects remain hidden underneath or on the bracket before making sure the air compressor avoids contact with surrounding elements that might result in resonance noises. Please check that both the rubber isolators provide smooth movement to the air compressor as well as inspect the bracket for any deformities which would prevent the isolators from remaining separated. The installation must end with the opposite sequence of step removal.
