Proceed by unfastening the shift lever cable first from the shift lever then from the shift lever housing before disconnecting the electrical connector with the wiring harness from the shift lever housing. First remove the four housing securing nuts before taking the shift lever housing out of the vehicle. Installation begins with stepping up the shift lever cable locking tabs while installing its cable end onto the ball stud.
