2007 Ford Focus Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the heater core on 2007 Ford Focus?
A: Before performing heater core service check for leaks through an analysis and conduct the test before removal. The vehicle should be placed on a hoist system with NEUTRAL selected for draining the cooling system. The heater core requires unconnecting the coolant hoses followed by eliminating the floor console from its present position. Before proceeding with the heater core service start by unscrewing the right-hand panel insulator and the floor duct screws then dropping the glove compartment before removing these two screws. Start by closing the glove compartment before unfastening the four screws that secure the trim panel. Afterward, detach the three nuts from the accelerator pedal for positioning it to the side. The process requires removal of the steel retaining clip which attaches the dash panel to heater core and evaporator core housing before uninstalling left-hand and right-hand in-vehicle crossbeam brackets with 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque upon bracket installation. The removal of left-hand floor duct requires clip extraction and screw uninstallation followed by right-hand floor duct removal in a comparable manner. First you need to disconnect the heater core, cover through the removal of its two screws and unclipping and releasing the three tabs. The retaining screw on the heater core needs removal to extract the core itself. The installation procedure consists of performing the reverse steps while cleaning and lubricating coolant hoses with plain water if required before filling the engine cooling system.
