Before removing the starter solenoid wire receive the battery ground cable and install the nut which must be tightened to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) when reinstalling. Disconnect the starter solenoid battery cable nut by removing the wiring before installation because this connection requires a precise torque of 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The power steering tube bracket nut must be removed before setting aside the bracket and tube together which will require 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) torque for installation. Thirdly remove the upper bolt and lower stud bolt and the starter motor itself. The reinstallation process begins by arranging the upper bolt and lower stud bolt with loose finger tightness before torquing the upper bolt to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) and the lower stud bolt to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft). The installation process ends with performing the reverse steps from removal. Operate with extreme caution when handling the electrically heated battery input lead at the starter solenoid since hot exhaust components should also be avoided.
