How to service the inner tie rod on 2007 Ford Fusion?

Removing the steering gear, to service the inner tie rod, marks the pinion shaft and housing. Unscrew the tie-rod end jam nut, take out the outer tie-rod end and make sure it is torqued when replacing. Take off bellows boots, grasp piston shaft and take off and snap in inner tie rod, and crimp new rock washer. Uninstall to reinstall.
