How to service and repair the tie rod inner on 2008 Ford Fusion?

In order to service the tie rod inner, remove the steering gear, mark the pinion shaft and housing. Relax the tie-rod jam nut, strip out the outer end of the tie-rod (tighten to 90 Nm), and strip away both bellows boots. Fit the inner tie-rod end to a wrench (tighten to 103 Nm) and crimp the new rock washer. Installation is reversed.
