Before proceeding you must remove both the air cleaner outlet pipe along with the throttle body. You should then unscrew the three bolts securing the upper thermostat housing before placing the housing to the side. The first step requires replacing the old thermostat O-ring seal. The new thermostat requires 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) bolt torque when installation takes place. Smith install a new thermostat with clean engine coolant lubricating its O-ring seal before returning the housing using the backward order from removal. The cooling system requires filling followed by bleeding as the final step to finish.
