How to service the intake air duct on 2007 Ford Ranger?

The first step to service the intake air duct is disconnecting the battery ground cable. Servicing the accelerator control splash shield requires removal of its two bolts while tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during reinstallation. The first step includes pulling out brake booster vacuum hose pushpins together with electrical harness and crankcase ventilation tube quick connect coupling. Unclip the two clamps to detach the outlet pipe from the air cleaner. The reinstallation torque should be set at 3 Nm (27 lb-in). The visual inspection of ACL intake duct and outlet tube must be done before proceeding with the reinstallation step since foreign objects and obstructions or punctures need to be assessed.
