Service of the camshaft position (CMP) sensor starts by disconnecting both the battery ground cable and the vacuum hose from the intake manifold. The electrical connector of the CMP sensor requires disconnecting followed by removal of the sensor bolt. Discard the O-ring seal in the process. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the new O-ring seal which gets installed during the sensor replacement process. The service procedure requires tightening the bolt to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) and adding the new O-ring seal.
