How to Service the Throttle Position Sensor on 2007 Ford Ranger?

Start the service of the throttle position (TP) sensor by disconnecting both the battery ground cable and the electrical TP sensor connector. With scissors and a hand tool the TP sensor screws need to be carefully loosened one and then two full turns before a suitable high-speed driver completes the complete removal. The two bolts along with the TP sensor must be discarded. New components must be used when installing the new TP sensor by tightening it to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) without using the old sensor or screws. Using a high-speed driver for new screw installation will damage the TP sensor therefore it should be avoided. When installing the new TP sensor you should position its radial locator tab correctly into the throttle body radial locator hole before you finish the procedure by reversing your removal process.
