2007 Ford Taurus Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the heater core on 2007 Ford Taurus?
A: The first step for repairing or servicing the heater core involves emptying the engine coolant. The repair process requires the instrument panel to be uninstalled first then the right-side cowl vent screen needs extraction. First disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core by taking off the two screws and removing the water shield. Users can remove the remote climate control (RCC) module from vehicles with Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) through a connector disconnection followed by two nuts from the vacuum harness, two screws and the RCC module extraction. People with all vehicle models must start by removing two screws alongside a shield followed by disconnected electrical cables of the temperature blend door actuator before the removal of three screws to separate the actuator itself. Detach the temperature blend door assist spring and check that no part of the supplemental temperature blend door lever undergoes any bending. The supplemental temperature blend lever shaft needs you to push a retaining tab while pulling it free from the supplemental blend door and afterward you can remove the supplemental blend door pivot shaft from the metal link. First delete the metal link from the temperature blend door pivot shaft before you remove the heater core cover by dislodging its three screws while rotating the shaft and taking away the cover together with its seal. You can take out the heater core by rotating the blend door pivot shaft before pulling out the core from its location. Installation follows removal steps along with plain water lubrication of the coolant hoses before filling the engine cooling system.
