2007 Ford Taurus Intake Manifold Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the lower intake manifold on 2007 Ford Taurus?
A: Cleaning operations should be the first step when servicing the lower intake manifold to avoid engine failure from foreign materials. First drain the engine cooling system before you disconnect the fuel tube spring lock coupling and then take out the push rods. The service process starts with disconnecting the FRP sensor electrical connector and six fuel injector electrical connectors followed by removal of the upper radiator then degas bottle afterwards heater hoses before disconnecting the ECT sensor and CMP sensor electric wires. Use a socket wrench to eliminate the lower intake manifold bolts while removing both the intake manifold gaskets along with end seals. All sealing surfaces require cleaning with metal surface cleaner prior to installation. The lower intake manifold must be secured within four minutes or else the sealant should be removed together with another clean-up of the area. The four cylinder block-to-cylinder head seams require application of silicone gasket and sealant prior to correctly positioning both lower intake manifold gaskets and end seals. The intake manifold should be installed before tightening its eight bolts first at 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs) and then to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs). The procedure requires reconnecting the CMP sensor, ECT sensor, upper radiator, degas bottle and heater hoses after which you should attach the six fuel injector connectors and the FRP sensor connector. Complete the process by putting back the push rods and using the fuel tube spring lock coupling before filling and bleeding the engine cooling system.
