    A: The wiper switch service and repair operation should start with supplemental restraint system (SRS) depowerment. Unlock the ignition switch lock cylinder through RUN position key entry and pushing a punch button which releases the tab to extract the cylinder. Eliminate the steering column tilt lever before you unscrew the three screws which fasten the steering column cover. Detaching both steering column covers begins the process before removing the multi-function switch screws and tightening them to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs) during replacement. The multi-function switch requires disconnecting its electrical connectors before final removal of the switch. The installation ends by restoring the order of component removal while powering up the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
