2007 Lincoln Mark LT Shock Absorber Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove and replace the front shock absorber and spring assembly on 2007 Lincoln Mark LT?
A: Start the front shock absorber and spring assembly removal procedure by securing the vehicle into neutral gear on a hoist. Follow the upper mount nut removal step and install new ones before securing them to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). The holding feature stops the ball stud on the outer tie-rod end from spinning during nut removal and installation but do not strike the ball stud off the wheel spindle because you should gently tap the spindle. Release and discard the outer tie-rod end nut followed by removing the tie-rod end from the wheel spindle before you tighten the new nut to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.). Use the outer tie rod adjustment for shock absorber and spring clearance before removing the lower nut and bolt which both need disposal. When installing the lower nut and bolt you should tighten them to 475 Nm (351 ft. lbs). The shock absorber lower nut should not receive tightening until all installation work is finished when the vehicle weight stands on wheel and tire assemblies. The installation process ends after performing the reverse order of the removal steps.
