How to service and repair the Trunk Latch on 2007 Lincoln Mark LT?

Installation To service the tailgate latch, access the tailgate and loosen the eight screws of the access panel to 5 Nm. Take off the latch actuating rod and the latch bolt and cable and tighten to 25 Nm when refitting. After installation, lubricate the latch.
