The right-hand parking brake cable tension decreases when you undo the equalizer adjustment nut before removing the cable from the equalizer. The tabs should be squeezed to release the cable from its supporting bracket. When working on wheel speed sensors of all-wheel drive vehicles disconnect the bolt while putting the sensor in a safe place until reinstallation requires a torque setting of 7 Nm (62 inch lbs). Proceed to disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever by removing its two support plate bolts while torquing these bolts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs) during reinstallation. Set the stabilizer bar link to the side after removing its nut while using 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs) torque when reinstalling it. Complete the procedure by removing the four bolts securing the parking brake cable bracket then take out the cable before reinstalling it with 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.) torque. Finally follow this procedure by executing the removal steps in reverse order and reposition the parking brake cable correctly.
