How to service the thermostat for a 3.5L engine on 2007 Lincoln MKZ?

To service a thermostat on the 3.5L engine, empty the cooling system, remove the air cleaner and outlet pipe and disconnect the lower radiator hose. Take off the thermostat housing cover, O-ring seal and thermostat. Clean up the O-ring, lubricate new O- ring and reassemble parts and then fill out the cooling system.
