- Q: How to service and repair the front 60 percent seat cushion on 2007 Lincoln Navigator?A: The first step for servicing or repairing the front 60 percent seat cushion requires depowering the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Disconnect the 60 percent seat and backrest from the rest of the components and detach and remove the inner and outer covers of the armrest bracket. The service process begins by opening the armrest latch lower cover and then removing both armrest bracket-to-seat track bolts and armrest latch-to-seat track bolts for detaching the armrest and brackets from the track before tightening the bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft) for reinstallation. To disassemble the armrests first remove the screw and release the clips to detach the armrest latch upper cover before you can remove the two pin-type retainers and the armrest latch lower cover. The armrest pivot bolt together with armrest bracket must be taken out but both pieces should be tightened to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) before putting in the two armrest latch bolts and armrest latch, which require tightening to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft) for installation. To reinstall the safety belt the center seat safety belt bolt and safety belt should be removed first while tightening to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft) torque values apply. The procedure to uninstall the safety belt buckle pretensioner includes disconnecting its electrical connectors followed by nut removal before installing it again with a torque of 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). To access the cushion frames the technician should remove eight fasteners connecting frames to track while tightening bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) then disconnect four rear clips and straps to detach both frames. The cushion trim cover should be gently pulled from the hook-and-loop strip to prevent tearing before removing the hog rings for detachment of the trim cover and foam pad. You can detach the inboard and outboard seat track rails if you take out the six seat track rail-to-seat track nuts which should be tightened to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) when reinstalling. Simultaneously detach the seat track adjust handle by marking the spring position. The electrical connectors must be separated first while releasing the tie strap before taking out the three wiring harness bracket screws to access and remove the wiring harness. Recommissioning involves executing the opposite processes of disassembly before you reinstall the 60 percent seat backrest and seat and reactivate the SRS system.
