- Q: How to service the third row 40 percent seat cushion on 2008 Lincoln Navigator?A: The first step for servicing the third row 40 percent seat cushion involves taking out the seat along with its seat backrest. The seat cushion service begins with removing inboard and outboard slide bracket-to-cushion frame nuts followed by taking off slide brackets from both sides of the seat cushion while you apply 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque during reinstallation. The service continues with two step: disassembling seat riser-to-cushion frame bolts and riser and reassembling the riser at 30 Nm torque (22 lb-ft). Due care should be taken to separate the cushion trim cover J-clips during the removal process until the cushion frame can be detached while avoiding damage to the hook-and-loop strip on the foam pad. You must turn the trim cover inside out to reach the hog ring line before removing the rings then taking off the cover. The assembly procedure requires following the steps in the reverse order of disassembly.
