How to remove and replace the rear shock absorber and spring assembly on 2007 Lincoln Navigator?

The first step when removing and installing the rear shock absorber and spring assembly is to detach the lower arm. After removal of the upper mount nuts the installer needs to tighten them to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) during assembly. Move on to the removal process of shock absorber and spring assembly. The installation process can begin if service of the individual shock absorber parts and springs is not needed. When assembling the components index the shock absorber with the upper mount followed by spring installation. Apply the correct spring compressor to the spring for compressing it until shock absorber tension surrenders. Remove the shock rod from its position and then unscrew the nut and washer while later removing the shock absorber before discarding the nut. TORQUE THE NUT TO REACH 56 NEWTON METERS THAT IS EQUIVALENT TO 41 FOOT-LB.
