2007 Lincoln Town Car Coolant Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the coolant reservoir on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?
A: Begin service and repair operations on the coolant reservoir by following safety precautions that involve avoiding unscrewing of the coolant pressure relief cap when conducting work on an operating or hot engine because the cooling system operates under pressure and produces powerful steam and hot liquid emissions. Proceed to vent the pressure through a slow counterclockwise turn of the pressure relief cap before you can remove it. Hose clamp pliers enable you to secure the supply hose of the degas bottle and draw coolant from it using an appropriate suction device. The procedure requires disconnecting the degas bottle overflow hose and supply hose after which you should remove the bolt securing the degas bottle. The degas bottle should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) along with replacement of constant tension clamps with worm-style clamps to ensure proper installation. Seal the degas bottle procedure by filling it with the required coolant mixture at the specified fill level.
