2007 Lincoln Town Car Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Water Pump on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?
A: You need to empty the cooling system before starting coolant pump maintenance. You need to loosen first all bolts on the coolant pump pulley then detach the accessory drive belt that connects to it. The fitting procedure requires uninstalling the four coolant pump pulley bolts followed by installing new pulley bolts that need torque to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The service requires uninstalling both the four bolts and the coolant pump while discarding the O-ring seal. New O-ring seals with clean engine coolant lubrication must be applied during new coolant pump assembly before using torque wrench settings at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The coolant pump housing should not receive any rotational movement after engine installation because this could harm the O-ring seal that might cause coolant leakage. The cooling system completion requires filling it with coolant before performing a bleed operation.
