2007 Lincoln Town Car Power Steering Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Cooler on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?
A: Start services and repairs of the power steering cooler by uninstalling pushpins and radiator cover shield after taking off the battery and battery tray. The mounting bracket bolts for the cooling module should be disconnected but tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs) when reinstalling them. Remove the mounting brackets from the cooled module equipment. During maintenance, it is essential to stop contaminants from accessing the power steering system because failure of system components may result prematurely. Disengage the clamps to remove power steering inlet and outlet hoses from the cooler before applying stoppers to each hose to stop fluid leakage. Both pushpins on the radiator side shields must be removed alongside the power steering cooler-to-radiator module pushpin. Position the radiator in a rearward direction and pull out the cooler from its clips to disconnect it from the radiator module. Installation of the cooler requires executing the procedure in reverse order then running fluid through the system while verifying no leaks occur.
