2007 Lincoln Town Car Throttle Body Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the throttle body safely on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?
A: Safety measures need to be taken first because open flames and smoking violate safety precautions when servicing fuel-related components which contain highly flammable mixtures. Start the process by unclipping the battery cable and extract the outlet tube from the air cleaner. The service requires you to disconnect both the throttle actuator control (TAC) and throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connectors. Lift off the throttle body by removing its four bolts and throwing away the associated TB gasket. A new TB gasket should be applied before installing the throttle body and four bolts which should be tightened through two sequential steps at 9 Nm (80 lb-in) then another 90-degree rotation. The process ends with reinstallation of the air cleaner outlet tube followed by connecting the TAC and TP sensor electrical connectors and finally reconnecting the negative battery cable.
