2008 Ford E-250 Mass Air Flow Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2008 Ford E-250?
A: You should start by removing the air cleaner before performing service on the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Handling the MAF sensor elements should be done carefully to prevent a unit breakdown. Start by opening the air cleaner then unfasten the clamp on the air box while removing the inlet side from the outlet side of the air cleaner. Following the removal of the latches users can extract the MAF assembly from the system. Detach the electrical connector only after verifying that the red clip extends beyond the connector. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector before you take off the screws holding the MAF sensor in place. Install the new sensor and fasten its screws to 2 Nm (18 lb-in). Check that the engine air cleaner housing grommet at the extension harness has complete seating to stop unmetered air from entering the engine. You should use the alignment notch to put the inlet and outlet sides of the engine air cleaner in the correct position before finishing the installation with the reverse steps of removal.
